President's Division

Lindsey GreenLindsey Green appointed university-wide HIPAA privacy officer
Lindsey Green, who has been serving for the past two years as the HIPAA privacy officer for the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, has been appointed as the University HIPAA Privacy Officer effected June 2. HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) is United States legislation that provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information. As HIPAA privacy officer for the Dugoni School, Green handled all HIPAA compliance matters, including reviewing and implementing HIPAA policy, as well as putting in place all required HIPAA documentation and business associate agreements. In this new appointment, Green will continue in this capacity university wide, where she will review and recommend HIPAA policies across all three campuses and oversee the development of a comprehensive and robust best practices HIPAA Privacy Program that covers University of the Pacific as a whole.   

External Relations

Michael Klocke, editorMike Klocke of The Record for the past 13 years, has been hired as Pacific's new community relations director. Klocke earned his degree in journalism from Michigan State and has worked for nearly 40 years in journalism at newspapers in Michigan, Indiana and Florida in addition to his two stints at The Record totaling 27 years. As Pacific's community relations director, Klocke will be promoting programs and initiatives such as Beyond Our Gates and will help build a bridge between Pacific and its surrounding communities.

Academic Division

Cindy Lyon named new associate dean for oral health education
Cindy LyonCindy Lyon '86 has been selected following a national search to serve as the new associate dean for oral health education in Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, effective July 1, 2017. Lyon currently serves as chair of the Department of Diagnostic Sciences. Lyon will provide oversight of all educational programs at the Dugoni School. She began her career at the Dental School in 2001 when she was asked to create a dental hygiene program on the Stockton Campus. She was instrumental in developing the innovative curriculum and obtaining accreditation for the nation's first three-year baccalaureate dental hygiene program. Read more>>  

Myrna Barrera-Torres transferred to the position of assistant director of graduate admission and recruitment marketing in Enrollment Management on the Sacramento Campus.

Mercedes Chin transferred to the position of registration receptionist in Central Sterilization in Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Elizabeth Ann Concepción transferred to the position of emergency coordinator in the Department of Clinic Administration in Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Jenifer Coughlin was promoted to vocational services program director in the College of the Pacific Department of Psychology.

Eraina Persson transferred to the position of insurance coordinator in the Department of Clinic Administration in Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Cathy Peterson, professor of physical therapy, will oversee the Department of Physical Therapy in the role of department chair. Todd Davenport, associate professor of physical therapy, will assume the role of program director.

Ashley Swirsky is a new administrative assistant I in the Office of the Provost.

Rolande Tellier is the new program manager in the Department of Dental Practice in the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Kathleen Williams is the new associate director of admission in the Office of Admission.

Sally Zhou is the new clinic coordinator in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

Development and Alumni Relations

Michael Richmond has been hired as executive director of annual giving effective June 28. Richmond brings vast experience in the field of Annual Giving, most recently in his current role as the director of leadership and annual giving programs at the University of Maryland, where he has served since 2009. He previously spent 10 years at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, on the Annual Giving staff where he managed acquisition programs. He earned his BA in communication theory from UNLV. 

Business and Finance

Janet Gonzalez was promoted to human resources intern in Human Resources.

Aaron Heriot is the new facilities project coordinator in Capital Planning and Space Management.

Shiv Kumar is the new facilities project accountant in Capital Planning and Space Management.

Carolyn Orgon is a new facilities project coordinator in Capital Planning and Space Management.

Lori Slawson transferred to the position of student business services financial specialist in Student Business Services.

Arturo Vazquez is the new building operations technician in the Pacific Center on the San Francisco Campus.

Pacific Technology

Eliza Neufville-Bondo is a new senior project manager in Enterprise Systems.  

Athletics

Carl Weigley is the new assistant coach for Swimming.

Alyssa Wray has been promoted to athletics business manager.
