Housing Options for 2nd Year Students

New Residence Hall

There are some commonalities throughout the Second Year Community, please see them below.

Furnishings
All Second Year apartments are furnished with the following:

*Common Area seating is based on number of residents per apartment unit.

Laundry
As part of your Housing rate, you are provided credits to do laundry on-campus.  The Community Laundry Rooms can be found on the main floor of each building.

Meal Plan
The Second Year community is required to have a minimum of a Silver Meal Plan.  Students are able to increase to the Gold or Platinum Meal Plan.

Community Options
The options for Second Year students are McCaffrey Center Apartments or New Residence Hall.  Below you will find our more information about thse communities.

McCaffrey Center Apartments
McCaffrey Center Apartments are three-bedroom, one-bathroom units which are located at the center of campus. The furnished three-person, three-bedroom apartments are reserved for second year students. Most apartments are two-story units, with some one-story units.  All units are on the 3rd floor of the McCaffrey Center, with stair and elevator access to the main floor of residential spaces. The McCaffrey Center complex is the hub of daily student activity such as the ASUOP student government offices, The Grove campus convenience store, and the Janet Leigh Theater.

New Residence Hall
New Residence Hall is our new construction opening Fall 2018. This facility boasts two twin buildings with 7 floors of apartment-style accommodations for 374 second year students. One of building's first floor offers the residents community space including a large community kitchen, game room, study space, social lounge space and access to the complex pool.  The furnished apartments include four-person, two-person and limited one-person units. Each apartment includes a common kitchen, living room, dining room, and a bathroom (four-person units have two bathrooms). The New Residence Hall is located north of the Calaveras River near the Foot Bridge Walking Path, Physical Plant and Mail Room.
